  • Time and Sales

Today, I watched a webinar at Go To Meeting that taught some techniques regarding trading the ES. The presenter had several windows showing time and sales info filtered for size of transaction. All of the trades were either red or green showing that all the trades were at or below the bid or at or above the asked. I don't know what system he was using but he said it was fed with e-signal data.

On my system using Qcharts 6.02, my time and sales show a lot of trades where the row color is white indicating the trade was made between the bid and ask. However, the ES rarely has a spread of more than 1 tick so I don't know why I am showing all these white rows wheras the guy doing the webinar had no white rows. Any ideas?

    Time and Sales Data

since installing the latest up date.

The RED and GREEN high lights at a new HIGH or LOW,
    no longer work.

This is an addition to my post from 4-20-09 that to this
date has not received any comments.

    Any info greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Z

ztrader....on my Qcharts, the default for new lows and highs is red and green but the system on the webinar used red and green to show if the trade was at or below bid or at or above ask. Every trade was either red or green which is what one would expect if the bid and ask were only one tick apart, which is usually what hapens with the ES curing normal market hours.

I don't see your 4/20 post in this forum. I will see if I can find it.

          Time and Sales RED GREEN

          Hi Larry,

Thanks for the reply, but it is the "File > new > Time and Sales" quote sheet for the specific contract. That does not flash the
Green when a "new HIGH" or Red at a "new LOW".

Lots of stuff stopped working in this latest update.

Have a chart of $VOLD, it flat lined at 10:30 eastern today.

If you could read my post in DATA INTEGRITY from 4-20,
for the details. It would be greatly appreciated.

Data stalled on the open again today, came back eventually.
But was dead for seveal minutes, no bars updated and time
          and sales stopped.

          Thanks,
          Z

            Time and Sales colors

here is what T&S looked like at todays new HIGH.

Have not changed any default colors, the bright green
and Red has worked for years in all other versions, fyi.

            Thanks,
            Z

              Re: Time and Sales colors

              Hey Z,

              Confirming. Seeing the same.
For me, I can't see High/Low in T&S window in any 6.x version.
Can only see it in 5.1.

                Hey Lloyd,

Looks like in 6.0.2 and 6.0.3 the feed is not being interpreted correctly, with the "0" side being inserted as a separate transaction.
For example, in eSignal one would see in T&S (long view)...

                Bid size 23x0
                Ask size 0x19
