  • 6.2 Tick Volume (TiV)

    Unfortunately, this has now either been rescaled
    or totally screwed up. If it's been rescaled, how
    do I read it ? Is it the number of trades divided by
    1000? divided by 100? or what ? Even worse,
    it looks like if there are less than 1000 trades,
    it is *not* rescaled. So TiV = 460 (example SCHB)
    means 460 trades but TiV = 180.67 (example F) means
    180,670 ???

    And, notice that this scaling inconsistency renders the field
    incorrectly SORTABLE. This is similar to the Market Cap mistake of making it Unsortable. I sort on TiV all the time.
    Now, you can sort it, but it will sort incorrectly because of the
    < 1000, > 1000 issue.

    This is nonsense!
    My request: please REVERT it to the way it was.

    Thanks!

    I amend this complaint regarding the sorting --
    at least in the hot sheet I am using, the sorting
    by TiV looks OK. So, all I need is some confirmation
    that what is displayed is

    TiV =? Trades/1000, when Trades > 1000
    TiV =? Trades, when Trades < 1000

      Alan,

      Our support department found that this is caused by a combination of having Abbreviate Volumes turned on, and price precision set to two decimals for equities. In essence, if Tick Volume is great than 1000, then x.xxK format is displayed, however the K is somehow cut-off when the aforementioned options are turned on together.

      We have this in our bug-tracking system now and will have this fix scheduled in a subsequent release. In the interim, you can either turn off Abbreviate Volumes or the two-decimal precision to work-around this issue.
      Regards,

        Excellent -- turning off abbreviated volumes solves it.
        Thanks, Jay.
