In a prior message I provided you with an initial suggestion, did you try that out?
Also did TS2K ever work on your computer or did you just install it for the first time? Is it an original installation disk? If yes and you are the original owner did you try and contact TradeStation's support? FWIW I have no idea who RT support is

Yes I did, but I have only one dbcapi.dll (in the e-signal folder), so there is no other one to replace

TS2000i is legal and worked and this computer before (with Tenfore). Unfortunately it is not supported anymore by Omega, so I cannot get any support.

RT (Real-Time) are the people from http://www.traderssoft.com/ . They programme software for Tradestation and they have programmed the historical data download plugin for TS2000i.

Could you post an image of the Portfolio where it shows the error when trying to connect the symbol.

When i compare your event log with mine there is 1 big difference: i never see HISTORYBANK.COM appear.

Can this give you a clou? Perhaps there is still something wrong with the settings.

Can you see realtime charts in Esignal?

I don't see HistoryBank either (see first image below) but in my case that is due to the fact that I have the Plugin installed which takes over that SubServer. What appears missing from your Event Log is Event ID 4 (second image below) which occurrs when GlobalServer actually connects to the Data Manager.
Do you have a firewall or antivirus installed? If you do then you may want to try and disable them and restart Data Manager first then TS2k/GlobalServer and see if that resolves the problem
Another thing you may want to try is to reinstall TS2k leaving out the option to use HISTORYBANK.

Thankyou again for all your help.

TS2Ki was installed without historybank. com (although it appears in the event log, maybe by default?).

I have an ASUS A8N-SLI with a nForce 4 chipset. The firewall is hardware based, but it is off.

                  No antivirus running.

As far as I can see it still is missing the Connection established event (ID 4) with DBC Online which indicates that the GlobalServer has connected to the Data Manager.
Aside from the possibility of a corrupted file a guess would be that you have some program (including spyware or similar) or firewall that is preventing Globalserver from succesfully establishing that connection. Beyond that I cannot come up with any other reason as to why you would be experiencing this problem.

I once had the same problem. The Global Server didn't make the connection with Esignal. I had to run the Setup Wizard twice before the connection worked.

What you also can do is first install TS with the Esignal software that is on the CD. After installing this software you can upgrade to the latest Esignal version.

Perhaps check also if everything has been installed in the default directories, this should normally give no problems, but you never know.

Spyware might be a problem also as Alexis already said.

I use adaware + spybot latest update for the spywares.

I will try to reinstall it with the original esignal and update.

After having reinstalled TS2k with its version of eSignal do you now have a second dbcapi.dll file on your drive? If you do try updating it with the one from the eSignal directory. If instead you don't then try making a copy of the one in the eSignal directory and placing it in windows/system32 directory (make sure that eSignal, Data Manager, TS2k and GlobalServer are not running while doing either of the above). Then try running GlobalServer without launching eSignal and set it to Online Mode.
Should the problem still persist I cannot think of any other suggestion but to perform a complete uninstall of both applications (also removing the relative Registry settings) and reinstalling them from scratch.
Having said this there is still the possibility that this problem could be caused by some other program that is preventing GlobalServer from communicating with the Data Manager. If that were the case a complete reinstall may not fix the problem either.

                                hi Alexis,

I have tried everything you said.
Even tried to roll back to esignal 7.8 which worked fine.

Nothing works, althgough the computer is still the same...

                                Thankyou for your help anyway...
