Click here for the Symbol Guide then select the Forex and Garvin Bond link.
FWIW you can access the same page by going to Help->Symbol Guide in eSignal main menu.

You will have to create them as new symbols in GlobalServer.

              Alexis,

I remarked that downloading Forexdata is only possible for
one week in one piece. But it´s no problem at all.
But for me it´s not possible to download tickdata. I don´t
know if I am doing something wrong.

Is it right that in TS 2000i I can only plot bid/ask tick in realtime?
              No one minute charts (realtime)?

              Thank´s

When you say it is not possible for you to download tick data you mean in real time or using ActiveX Plugin?
As to plotting 1 Minute in real time you can do that using 1 Minute Bid or Ask Record (the setting is actually part of the Forex Template), but then you cannot update that specific resolution using ActiveX Plugin which only has 1 Tick Bid/Ask Records.

I ment historical (activex). But I tried to download the ticks from trade record and bid record together and then it was no problem.
maby I had a wrong configuration. anyway I solved it.
                  Thank you.

                    Cross currency symbols and dl'ing

I am new at Forex and plan to download cross currencies. I have upgraded the T2000i with your new plugin and it works great! but now I am a noob when it comes to cross currency data.

What symbol do I need to input into globalserver to get cross currency data, since all I have seen in these posts have been single currency data, ie JPY A0-FX

How far back will I be able to download data for most currencies?

                    TIA.

                    E.

You can find the complete list of FOREX symbols by clicking here.
Some symbols are expressed in US$. If you want to create international crossrates just join the relative symbols, type the spot or forward rate followed by a dash and the FOREX extension.
For example spot cross between Euro and Japanese Yen would be
                      EURJPY A0-FX
GlobalServer has very few FOREX symbols predefined so you will need to create most of them from new.

With regards to data available for download this is currently limited at 60 days for intraday data and to over 10 years of daily data where applicable .
However this is going to change in the near future when the available intraday data will be increased to 6 months and from there further incremented to a maximum of two years.

                        Thanks Alexis!
But now I am stuck in the details of acutally getting it downloaded...<sigh>

First I am not sure what exchange I need to be using, Globalserver has given me a choice of (CBFX) Chemical , (CEX)Citibank, and (FOREX) as exchanges available. It does not have the extra default exchange listed in the Esignal Dl'er CFOREX.

Second I am not so sure about what to exactly type into all the fields when I edit symbol,
Under the first Edit Symbol tab in Globalserver, using AUDCAD cross currency as example,

                        Symbol Name: AUDCAD A0-FX (?)
                        Description: AussieLoonie
                        Symbol Root: AUDCAD A0-FX (?)
                        Symbol Number: 0 (?)

                        Second Tab, Settings,

Exchange Listed: FOREX - Foreign Exchange
                        Price Scale: 1/10000
                        Point Value: 10
                        Daily Limit: 0
                        Min. Movement: 1

Does this look correct? I tried all three exchanges with the above settings and no luck - as I go to download I get no data.

                        TIA,
                        E.

The exchange to use in GlobalServer is either CFOREX or FOREX (some versions of GS have one some the other not sure why).

As to creating additional symbols here is the quick and dirty method that will save you a lot of aggravation.
First delete all the Forex symbols you may have created. Then insert the JPY A0-FX as a symbol. That is included in GlobalServer's Dictionary which makes it easier. Then Export the JPY A0-FX.
At that point in Portfolio simply change the Symbol of JPY A0-FX to (for example) EUR A0-FX. Change the Description and Root Symbol fields (the Serial Number is not needed). Delete any data the symbol may have (that data belongs to JPY not EUR)
Now Import JPY A0-FX back again and repeat the above process changing the Symbol, Description etc and lastly deleting the data (if any).
Import JPY A0-FX again and continue the process until you have all the symbols you want.
The last time you will Import JPY and will leave its symbol unchanged.
                          Hope this helps

                            WORKING IN REAL-TIME

My hat goes off to Alexis Montenegro for the help given. Thank-you very much.

To everyone skeptical as to whether FOREX can work in real-time in TS2000i the answer is YES it does.
The key for me was to either choose bid record or ask record in the Settings tab under Format symbol.
The same goes for trying to download tick data with the e-Signal active-x plug-in. Under history to save add 3 for bid record(tick,1-min,1-day) and the same 3 for ask record.

My question now is why can I not get it to work in real-time with trade record chosen?

Are the session times the same for all the symbols like the times for the JPY A0-FX?

                            Please and Thank-you
                            Alan

                              fOREX Times

I read all the thread I found on Global Server Forex settings, but I do not find anything on the correct Session Times

I am on European Central Time, -1 from London and -6 from NY, like Paris or Rome

                              Using for instance

                              Monday 0:01 Mond 23:58
                              Tuesday 0:01 Tuesday 23:58
                              ...
                              like I do

I LOSE ONE HOUR, i GET NOT DATA BETWEEN 23:00 and 24:00
on ALL forex symbols, never, it just jumps from 23 to 24
and the strange thing is it does not show a" hole " in the Charting with the "show Empty intraday..."

                              see attachment

                              Why ? Anybody else ??

                                Giovanni
Following are the Sessions settings I have for Forex symbols and the Daylight savings settings for Foreign Exchange.

With those settings I get the following chart.
In the first image you can see that the Global Chart Status is positioned on the 11:58pm (Exchange time) bar. If I changed the chart times to Local that would be 5:58pm which is correct as I am on Eastern Time. On the bar immediately after that you can see the Session break dashed line.
In the image after that the Global Chart Status is now on the first bar of the day (marked by the Session Break line) and as you can see the timestamp is 12:06am (Exchange time). Switching to Local time would return 6:06pm.

So at my end I don't seem to be able to replicate the issue you are seeing.

What timestamps are you showing on the chart for the last bar of the day when using Exchange and Local times?
What Offset from data feed time do you have in File->Preferences->General under the main menu of TradeStation?
Beyond the settings mentioned above and those shown in the enclosed images I cannot think of anything else that could impact how the charts are being displayed.
                                Alex
