I agree that you need to pick the ones that work best for you and use them. My point is that there is no perfect indicator that always works. I have a group of indicators that I review on a regular basis to see which are working in the current conditions. I go with the majority opinion. It also depends upon the interval. Some indicators seem to work better on short term and others in the long term. I want to have an idea of where the market is headed in the next few days/weeks. But I trade 1 minute bars. There are a few indicators that work pretty well at this level.

The other point I was trying to make is if you are building a system based upon multiple indicators you may want to consider using different types of indicators. The RSI, CCI, and Stoch have a lot in common. A MovAvg would give it another dimension. From what I can tell from looking at the signals generated by the FGall there may be better executions by using the MACD over the RSI. When I run FGall on 1 min bars of YM using executions on the C it tends to loose money.

I think the idea that FibbGann and dloomis have is a good one. They're doing a great job. I've tried to do similar things in the past. Especially when I was on TradeStation where developing this kind of stuff is a little easier. Just never found the combination that tested well enough for me to feel comfortable putting real money behind it.

      Gavishti,

Thanks for clarifying. Sounds like we are saying very similar things.

RE: RSI, CCI and STOCH all being similar. I would say this is more true of RSI and CCI than it is of stoch...which uses a very different theory on price movement.

I do agree MACD & CCI or MACD & RSI might have made a better choice that using both RSI or CCI - but then again so might using BBands and one of CCI or RSI. The point being that using too many of a similar indicator will tend to bias the signals to one type of market is well taken.

Good ideas here Garth and Gavishti

FibbGann - What do you think, should we take a look at the MACD instead of
          the RSI?

We can do more than one system at a time, right?

Maybe you watch the original FG system and G&G watch the second generation
          GG system?

I would say go ahead. The RSI is just not working well overall with the compilation of this efs. Not sure about everyone else, but, I am sticking with the Setbgcolor. I like my candles to stay the way they are.

Good point, one I think we can all agree on.

Are we going to use the painbar function now? The reason asking was I have another efs interacting with my candle color already.

                              FG

Would you prefer a green stripe in the price window or a study window? or
                              something else.

I think the FGall embedded with the latest ach had some discrepancies in the signal and strategy codes. Attached is a revised script.
I'll post the BackTester results using MACD to the FileShare group.
