I will check it out. What bar interval are you using and, also, what is your time template set to?

    Thanks,

    Chris

    • A new set of scripts has been uploaded to the Specialty Scripts group. They are a first try at an eSignal conversion of the Dacharts.org 2X-BLine trading setup by Buffy.

There are 4 scripts in all. They are all configured to work best on a chart with a black background but all of the colors can be changed.

I tried 5M, 15M, 30M, 45M. Time template set for 20 days, 9:30 to 16:15. 2 days lookback works, greater than 3 not. Thanks again.

        • Problems with Chris's 2xBline study

          Hi Chris,
I was looking under this section after the search engine had pointed to THRUST topics and found your efs for Buffy's study that I was attempting to do 2 days ago!!! Excellent work by the way on the study. Unfortunately, it seems to have the same problem with the bottom (B-line) pane as mine. The Stochastic lines are too "quick" and are about 10 points (max) out from the Ensign version (on my daily $INDU charts). I posted (on this EFS STudies BB, titled "Stochastic") a couple of questions to try and get the SIMPLE MA version (Buffy/Ensign download default) of the Stochastic as opposed to the Exponential version that is prevalent. Buffys system is set up for the Simple version and there are conflicting sites that say it should be for the Close or the (High-LOw/2).

Do you know how we can achieve this? I've attached two screen shots of $indu daily, one has the 933 the other shows the 533 for clarity. They both also show the Bline. I also have exact numerical values for various dates for all these if thats any help?
The shots show the (high-low)/2 setting which is on the default download from Ensign/Dacharts.
          Thanks

              • Hi Hooper:

In putting the scripts together there were a few issues that are left unresolved:

In the Lower Pane script, the 5,3,3 and 9,3,3 stochastics are supposed to use H+L/2 as the price source and the eSignal versions do not support a price source other than close. So I will need to write a separate script to create a more flexible stochastic.

Middle Pane I believe is Ok and matches the setup in Ensign.

Upper Pane - the 21,10,4 and 7,3,3 stochastics are classified in Ensign as "smoothed" (as opposed to "Simple" or "Exponential" and, again, we don't have that option in eSignal. To be honest, I'm not even sure what "smoothed" means. Once I figure it out I will write a standalone stochastic script to handle it.

Price Pane - I put up a newer version last evening and I believe it is correct except for the fact that, again, the 5,3,3 stochastic (yellow box marker) needs to use H+L/2 price source and the 7,3,3 stochastic (red/green dot markers) needs to be "smoothed".

I will fix all of the above as soon as I figure out what "smoothed" means.

                Chris

                • Hooper:

The Stochastic price source issue (e.g., HL/2) should now be resolved. I uploaded a new batch of 2XBline scripts to the 2XBline folder in Specialty Scripts. The Stoch(5,3,3) and Stoch(9,3,3) in the LowerPane and the Stoch(5,3,3) in the PricePane now use a custom Stochastic calculation that uses HL/2 as the price source.

The only remaining issue is to create a stochastic EFS that matches the Ensign "smoothed" stochastic which will take care of the UpperPane script. I will work on this as soon as I figure out what Ensign means by "smoothed'.

                  • Good news!

Hi Chris, good news for you!
You don't need to know what the Ensign "smoothed" means. I used the Joe Dinapoli Stochastic (available in Esignal; he calls it Preferred, but its essentially a " Slow" Stochastic) and put the 733, 21 10 4 in and the figures came out exactly as per the Ensign version.

I had to make two separate stochastics and merge them using the SHIFT key unlike your two on the same pane. Here is my 733 attached.
That just leaves the H+L/2 problem now (for the bottom pane). Do you believe that your Stochastic is a Simple MA type? I tried the H+L/2 statement that Jason suggested under my other post I mentioned (titled Stochastic) for the %K formula under "Library" but that looks nothing like Ensigns version, as I said.

                    What do you reckon?

                    • Hooper:

The H+L/2 issue should be resolved with the new batch of BLine scripts that I uploaded this morning. I compared my HL/2 stoch with that in Ensign and they match up perfectly. So, with the smoothed Stoch that you now have and the BLine scripts that I uploaded this morning, you should be all set. I will take a look at the Stoch EFS you uploaded and try to integrate it into the actual BLine scripts so you don't need to mix and match.

                      • Update on lower pane

                        Many thanks Chris,
That is a whole lot closer for the bottom pane! Ive noticed some differences between the bottom pane stochastics on my daily INDU chart. For instance, the Ensign values at 09/10/03 for the 933/533 were (75.66/84.38) & (34.53/59.24)
Your values at my end (installing the lower pane v1.1 efs and the __Stochastic efs) are for fast/slow: (70.11/78.55) & (61.41/43.41). Are you getting the same as my esignal system or do you differ and agree with Ensign system?

By the way in the older version of Buffys system (Bline) she had the H-L/2 for the 933, 533 and the 35/10/1 was Close. However, with the new 2xBline (jan 03) she uses h-l/2 for all 3 Stochastics. How would you modify the 3rd line (ie the 35/10/1)??
                        Thanks

                        • B-line system

Chris, many thanks for the b-line system. Since some of of the strategy is using the 5,3,3 crossover, would it be too much to ask if arrows could be printed either above or below the price bar (preferrably) or in the pane? Great work, thanks again.

Still having same problem with your MP script. 2 days works, anything more and I get a variety of errors. I have to believe that my settings are all correct (just using defaults) b/c 2 days looks fine. Any suggestions? I think your version is by far the best I've seen. Thanks a lot!

Could you please contact me via regular e-mail ([email protected]) and send me a few snapshots. First, send me a snapshot of your chart showing the 2-day lookback that works and then send me a snapshot of the same chart after you change the lookback to, say, 4 days. Thanks.

                              • Good news on the B-line front!

hi Chris, following my last post 18/09 ref the Buffy Bline+2 Stochastics in the bottom pane, I have reloaded the formula on a separate "page" and it works fine now. Why I have a difference between my first daily chart and second I have no idea. The main thing is that my data now represents what you and Ensign have!

That justs leaves the one outstanding item (for when you have a chance please) which was:

"By the way in the older version of Buffys system (Bline) she had the H-L/2 for the 933, 533 and the 35/10/1 was Close. However, with the new 2xBline (jan 03) she uses h-l/2 for all 3 Stochastics. How would you modify the 3rd line (ie the 35/10/1) for H-L/2??"

                                many thanks once again.
