Sorry for the delay in posting, it great to hear that both of you were able to get the IB Bridge working in your eSignal application, but for future reference should you do a reinstall this is how the IB Bridge does it installations.

The Path of installation for the Bridge is determined by the StartPath within the WinSig.ini file. If you decide that you want to install it in a different folder you would need to edit the winsig.ini file to direct the IBBridge to install in this new folder.

Below I have attached a screenshot if the winsig file with a highlight on the StartPath. So whatever this equals is where the IBBRIDGE is going to install. If you want to install it in multiple locations you would have to change the file name for each directory you would like to see it in.

Once again I apologize for the delay in responding and I hope this helps in the future.

    Hi AveryH,

    Thanks for the information.

I mentioned way back in this post that when I had a fresh copy of esignal installed in another directory I tried several times and couldn't not get the plugin working and it looked to me like the plugin install program was creating files in C:\Program Files\eSignal each time I ran the install program.and not the directory where I had it installed.

I may need reinstall I and 'll try it again and let you know.

      Problems updating symbol dictionary

The "edit" or "delete" symbol buttons symbol using the IB Brokerage Dictionary app are not working. When I click on either nothing is happening.

I also am unable to add YM #F. I've successfully added FOREX symbols, AB #F, ND #F, ES #F, but for some reason cannot add YM #F?

One other plugin issue, on another PC at home 2plugins listed for IB one "Interactive Brokers" and "Interactive Brokers1". At one point in this post it was suggested to add another connection with a "1" apprended. On this system I reinstalled a fresh copy of eSignal and this old configuration is still showing up.

How can I remove this second erroneous plugin listing. I removed the plugin and both IB entries are deleted. Then when I reinstall the plugin they both show up again?

      Thanks,

      Glen

        Glen -

This is what I was talking about in my post earlier in this thread...I can't delete any symbols.

Make sure the route for YM is ECBOT when you define the symbol.

For your last question - you have to run the plug-in installation and toward the end when both if these connections show up, there is a button to delete either one of them (or both for that matter) I did the same thing and had 2 connections and was able to delete one.

let me know if you have any luck with them...

I see what you mean about not being able to delete or edit any symbols. I had a similiar problem when TWS was not connected which is why I suggested that earlier.

I had to delete and reinstall the plugin to get rid of some erroneous symbols that were added.

I still can't add YM #F or ES # F which is also strange. I took your
suggestion and reinstalled the plugin to get rid of the additional IB plugin entry.

Now I'm getting the same unauthorized to trade instrument that you were getting which makes no sense at all as I've traded these instruments before. How did you get around that one?

          Thanks,

            Glen -

            1) Even with TWS connected I am not able to delete/edit symbols

            2) for the YM problem and other "Instruments not allowed" problem, make sure the Route is set correctly for each one during symbol definition.

              ziggy,

I'm not sure of the correct Forum protocol but this post contains several distinct issues, if it's OK with you I'm going to create seperate new posts. This should make it easier for others that have the problem or those trying to resolve problem to find the relavent information.

I'm still having the same problem you described in #1.

Regarding #2, I cannot add YM or ES, this is the procedure I'm following.
When I go into Dictionary - ADD Symbol and in the Create New Symbol Pop-Up I enter YM #F...then click on the .... box to bring up the Contract Lookup and enter YM it searches but comes up empty each time? Same thing for ES #F and I know on my PC at work I was able to get ES defined but not YM?

I assume you define the routes in the Defaults calling up the symbol, which can only be done after the symbol is added?

I'm curious do you always modify the Defaults after adding the symbol? It may be a requirement if the defaults are not correct.

                Hi Glen,

Thanks for breaking this into two threads.
Let us know if the below mentioned responses resolve the issues

Hi Guys i'm having the same problem

i install 1142 ver of IB plugin onto latest eSignal and it doesn't appear in trade menu .

I went to the eSignal folder and after installing IB plugin it didn't seem to do much by date modified it seems like it only modified downloads, OBC and sigtext folders but plugins folder appears to be untouched ???
i assume if there is a plugin there should be dll for it in plugins folder no ?

                    Hi oathofsamurai,

If the IB plugin isn't showing under the Trade menu, go to "Start -> All Programs -> Plugin Configurator".
Click "Create New Connection" and select "Interactive Brokers" from the drop down menu (see image).

Let me know if that works for you,

                        Hi oathofsamurai.

So you're telling that you've configured the connection, then you start eSignal and connection dissapears?
