The incoming feed into Continuum had a problem this morning with the latter half of NASDAQ symbols (starting with the letter N through Z, I believe). At about 10:06am (ET), that data feed was switched over to a back-up farm to resolve the issue. Unfortunately, the entire farm was affected, and intraday chart data cannot be restored.

Jay,
I get it that the interaday charts will note be restored.
My bigger question is - what do we as traders do when charts will not populate for the first 36 minutes of the market's action? It sure is scary to be in the market and not be able to see charts. Why did tech wait until 10:06 to note the problem and fix it?
Additionally - you suggested I call support. I did but the recording says, 'thanks for calling; we do not provide customer service via telephone.' - perhaps there's another phone number I don't have? Please advise.
Thanks,
Carol

Undoubtely, it is scary to be flying blind without charts or a real-time data feed coming through on open positions. I can certainly empathize with that. If an outage is detected in our service, it is a high priority event, and we immediately take action.
To clarify, 10:06 is when the problem was fixed, but it was reported much earlier. When our Operations team spoke to the Comstock feed team, they were already aware of it and working on solving it. It does take time to track down the causes of issues, and perform the needed tasks to resolve it.
The correct contact info for QCharts Support can be found at http://kb.esignalcentral.com/article...icle=3147&p=25 . I just checked the phone number listed there, and it went through to support ok.Regards,

I've been noticing this same thing at the open recently. It appears that the servers aren't resetting something correctly until about 15-30 minutes into a new trading day, because I've seen the DOW suddenly jump to the correct value.
At 9:50, I'm seeing -16 when I know the real value is more like -180.

Tom, twofish, & carbuff -
5.1 has never been able to get the INDU correct at the open. Somehow, magically, by about 11 am it will jump to the correct prices. Know that the servers don't keep up and 5.1 currently drops about 70% of the trades throughout the day. Be advised to pay attention to the volume & prices from your broker or another outside source as well - especially when the market is screaming - stocks like CME, for instance, will many times display prices $5 different than what you will see at your broker. I have given up on trying to trade CME for this very reason.
fyi,
Carol
