Keep it up !! especailly when US opens.

@15:33 US markets opening: lagging sometimes 3-5 seconds but in general an acceptable performance comparable to other sources. if every day be like today, i'd post here no more.

          • Here we go again

Right at the 10 am US report your Eurex futures feed goes DEAD.

You have more work to do eSignal engineers. Please figure this problem out and fix it NOW.

            Thank you

            • Please inform European futures subscribers....

Please inform this thread as to the specific problem with DEAD quotes and then significantly delayed quotes that started at 10 a.m. NYSE time when the Chicago PMI was released. Please also give us specific fixes you will implement to resolve the problem. I must know if eSignal is going to fix the problem and not play with it. Fixing the problem means getting another server online dedicated to the European futures quotes. That is an idea. Instead of putting existing servers to task, get some new ones. Spread the load. Please.

Thank you for making this issue a priority. That means spending some money to upgrade and add hardware.

              • From a traders perspective

                eSignal:

Please understand that a good real time data feed most of the time is not good enough. It is not acceptable to allow your quote feed to go DEAD and then delay at the release of US reports. My PATSystem feed through my broker is good all the time. Not most of the time. So please do not allow yourselfs to feel satisfied you fixed the problem until the current and daily issue of your signal going DEAD and then delaying at reports is resolved. Reports are active short lived periods in market trading. It is extremely important to have real time data during this period of time on a daily basis.

Please reply with your thoughts and comments.

                Thank you

                • I agree, I can't believe these guys are breaking there arm patting themselves on the back about the 'improvements'. The data is either real time all the time or else it is wothless.

obviously none of these guys know anything about trading. i do understand from an engineering point of view that there is improvement, but from a trader's point of view those so called improvements mean nothing

                  • I have given up on Dead Signal. I subscribe to a new service today. Software just as good, price similar to Dead Signal and you get Forex free with the package.

Their Eurex data is right on ALL THE TIME. Also I called their tech support today and someone called me back (from London to Hong Kong) within one hour.

Sorry to hear about your ongoing despair with Dead Signal

                    • Marketmonk,

We absolutely agree with that statement. People use quote services like eSignal because they are in search of fast, accurate and reliable data.

Please don't think that just because today's open was smoother and a few customers posted positive results, that we'd suddenly be lulled into a false sense of security. We aren't. We see problems still exist and our work continues.

In terms of this problem at certain times after the US markets open, that is what I referred to as the issue with "multi-tasking" on that production server. If we could simply add a new server, we would. Quite a bit of coding is nec to make changes along these lines and our ongoing efforts are outlined in my explanation earlier.

                      Thanks.

                      • "quite a bit of code needs to be ....'
so what you are saying is that it is going to be some time before your euopean data feed is fixed and reliable!

                        unreal

can't believe that old system was in place while you experiment with your new network in real time.

is in response to "why not just add another server?"

I can assure you we are working to fix these problems ASAP. Please refer to my lengthy response earlier for more detail.

                          Thanks.

                          • I did read your full response -

It has been over a month and probems still exist.

You and others have said you are working on it

but it is not very re-assuring. after a month it is obvious that it must be very difficult to fix this problem [regarless of what the problem is]

The fact of the matter is that you have no way to 'test' fixes until the market[s] open and/or reports come out.

The fact that you cannot give any estimate of when this problem *MAY BE* fixed is just not very reassuring.

The ASAP means nothing. I assume that when/if it gets fixed we will be notified

                            • We need a When

Yes Scott, we need a "WHEN".

Most of us have had a significant effect on our incomes from the deficiencies in the eSignal European feeds and need to know when this is going to change.

                              • Eurex Data

I have today written a letter to the CEO of Interactive Data Corporation informing him of the ridiculous situation of the Eurex data.

In particular I raised the following points:

                                1. Data has been faulty for over 3 weeks now and nothing has been fixed.

                                2. They did not keep the old data system as backup before switching over to the new connection. This is basic common sense in any conversion to a new system.

                                3. They are testing their so called "fixes" live on us poor customers.

                                4. eSignal is now widely known as Dead Signal, i.e. irreparable damage to their reputation.

                                5. Whoever is responsible for the above decisions should be fired.

The contact details of the CEO are as follows:

                                Mr. Stuart J. Clark,
                                President and CEO,
                                Interactive Data Corporation,
                                22 Crosby Drive,
                                Bedford, MA 01730,
                                USA
                                Tel: 781-687-8800.

I suggest all of you voice your grievances by writing to the CEO or better still call his office with complaints. I can "assure" you (to use Scott's and Graeme's famous quotations) that this will speed things up.

I will be personally calling the CEO office on Monday if things are still the same.
