Well that was fun, see how this log compares the MD Last Time stamp, the RtTime and my PC Clock.

The first difference column shows Last vs Rt times, the second difference col shows Last vs PC Clock.

See how the Last and Rt Times stay roughly together but both slowly slide as far as 46 seconds behind the PC clock, then snap back.

Short of my PC Clock being under the control of aliens I don't see how the figures are wrong.

I'm well fed up with this, off to pub.

I too noticed the DM showing timestamps ahead of my pc clock. I hesitated to post them thinking something was wrong. I have since confirmed via wristwatch and stopwatch that the pc clock isn't stuttering annd losing time. ES #F was the monitored symbol both yesterday and this morning. Just how can this be happening??

edit: this behaivior is seen both with and without the DM checkbox for syncronize computer clock being checked

If eSignal does not allow the user to select which server to connect, can it provide an server identification so that when a user encounters a server specific problem, he can report it with that server id so that it is more easy for esignal team to find out which server has the corrupted data or misconfiguration.

I've assumed that the netstat-reported IPs are all eSignal need and hence I've been posting them, but maybe those IPs are just load-balancers. I'll be somewhat annoyed if the IPs are not enough.

something positive: I see almost no delays except for this morning for about 5 minutes.

But switching between stocks in my scanner takes sometimes up to 7 seconds. So fast scrolling is not working for me...

Here is my ES #F T&S. Look at where the arrow is pointing. It supports Dave180's 46 second delay. My T&S show a 46 second gap at 9:12:53 MST, (16:12:53 Dave's time).
I bet you all have this same gap in your own time zone. It isn't a just a bad server, if New Mexico and England are getting the same bad data at the same time.
This is really not a good thing.

Just curious to know if your computer time is synchronized with Data Manager?

To check, please do the following;

In the Data Manager from the main menu Data -->Time. Confirm there is a check mark in the Synchronize Computer Clock, and the time zone below it is your local time zone.

Seeing BIG delays in C and other stocks, a friend of mine (also in the Netherlands Amsterdam) has almost no delays. My delay is about 25 seconds, checked it also in my DM and T&S comparing to IB. So it must be a server thing obviously...

Chart Difs

Scott,

You seem to care - great!

Can you tell me why 2 people using ESig data, one with ESig charts, and another with a different chart package would have 65 compared to 91 bars of 3000V over the same time frame?

Then when I opened a blank chart and reloaded the data, I changed from 65 to the same 91 he had?

Does this mean that I have to keep reloading data during an active session?

It does sound peculiar but we couldn't really give an explanation without seeing the data and examining the connections. If you are both on the same tick servers, I can't imagine that sort of difference (assuming the time templates are the same as well). If you were not on the same server, slight differences are possible but not to the extent you describe.

Try to capture the data in interval format so we can take a look.
